About CARE Projects

CARE Projects started because I kept running into problems on my own bikes and cars that nothing on the shelf quite solved. So I started designing and printing the parts myself.

I grew up taking apart whatever was headed for the trash: broken fans, old VCRs, anything held together with screws. I started mountain biking around thirteen or fourteen, and at fifteen I walked into a bike shop and stayed. More than 10 years in bike shops, from the sales floor and the service bench to general manager at Jax Bicycles in Fullerton. Bike shops teach you quickly what breaks, what people actually need, and what nobody makes.

Along the way I noticed that suspension was a gap nobody around me was filling, so I learned it on purpose. That attention to the small details, the kind that make a bike or a car work better, is what I bring to every part.

Every part here is designed and printed by one person, in a home workshop in Southern California, made to order. That is not a limitation. It is why each part gets checked before it is made, and why I will tell you honestly if something is not a good fit for printed plastic.

If something you own needs a part nobody makes, send me the details.

See you out there.

Johnny
